Conventions are the details that determine a great part of the grade you will get on your paper. In my opinion, conventions are not a significant part of a "good paper". A "good paper" is much different then a "well-written paper". A "well-written paper" will have no convention errors, but conventions don't effect the content or meat of the paper. That's just my opinion. If there are many convention errors in a paper, a flow will be messed up. It becomes distracting and takes away from the paper.
